A more specific slider experience

This has always been a bit of an annoyance but the sliders don't seem very specific and often cause confusion. Especially the clipping plane slider. My pointer/finger has always gone farther down than the slider indicates, Also, the slider always bounces to the middle before actually hitting the ground so I have to drag it down again which results in going all the way to the ground and then I have to manually bounce it back up. It's rickety and unspecific. The solution I might propose would be to have the slider "stick" at a certain level, dragging it to the bottom of the meter would drag the clipping plane down to the table and then the button would stay at the bottom. Dragging it to the top once would drag the clipping plane to it's max height and reveal everything, the button would stick to the top so there's always a specific reference to where the clipping plane is. I know this is troublesome because we use 3 different functions with the same button but maybe switching the button's functionality would move the button to it's appropriate spot depending on the selection. I would like this same application to the brightness setting. I want to get rid of the ambiguous 20% brightness setting and just have a max and min and have the slider stick based on the current setting. The only setting this wouldn't work for would be our build plane slider and that can bounce as it currently does. Would love feedback but this has always been an area of frustration for me. Also, with the brightness, I'm not sure anyone has ever actually moved it above 20%, I drop mine by at least 5% by default on almost every map.
